This course will train instructor candidates to teach basic-level American Red Cross First Aid, CPR, and AED courses. If you want to become a BLS instructor, you will take this course first, and you can take an online bridge to add BLS at no additional cost.

This is a blended learning course consisting of online content, a skills session, and classroom segments. Online material must be completed prior to attending the classroom activities.

What is required?

  • You must be at least 16 years old on the day of the instructor's course
  • You must possess a current basic-level American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED (or higher level - example BLS) certification or equivalent (example: AHA)
  • If you do not have a current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification, you can add the certification, and we will schedule the certification ahead of time.
NOTE: Lunch will be served during class. More information will be sent closer to the day of the class.
 
Who should take this course?
This course will prepare you to teach basic-level American Red Cross First Aid, CPR, and AED courses.
 
NOTE: If you want to become a BLS instructor, you will take this course first, and you can take an online bridge to add BLS at no additional cost. To become a BLS instructor, you must hold a current BLS Provider card.
 
There are 2 parts to this course:
 
Part 1: The First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor online course
Part 2: The hands-on session will be conducted in an in-person classroom setting.


What the Student Receives:

You will receive an American Red Cross First Aid / CPR / AED Instructor certification valid for two years.

Our continuing support will be available after you become an instructor.
No matter where you plan to teach your CPR classes, whether it's at your place of employment or your own business, we can help you get off to a fast start and provide ongoing support.

Please register using the email you wish your instructor card to be issued - for example, a personal email rather than a work email.

 

A current basic-level American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED (or higher level - example: BLS) certification or equivalent (for example, AHA) is required for the class - If you need to add the Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid Certification, select Yes. We will schedule this separately. - If you have a current certification, select No.
