Who should take this course?

This course is intended for those who want to teach BLS and Heartsaver courses to certify others, such as staff or the community.

  • Initial Class Monitoring (To be completed on the day of your class)

As an AHA BLS Instructor, you'll be able to teach the following classes:

  • BLS Provider
  • Heartsaver CPR/AED
  • Heartsaver First Aid CPR/AED
  • Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR/AED
  • Heartsaver for K-12 Schools
  • Heartsaver First Aid Only
  • Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens
  • Friends and Family

You will also be able to:

  • Teach at your place of employment and/or outside work by holding your own classes.
  • Ability to issue certification cards to students.
  • Post your classes on the AHA class locator.
  • Teach anywhere in the US.

Steps for the class

  • You must have a current AHA BLS provider certification issued by the AHA, which has the AHA logo at the time of your class. No other programs are accepted (For example, the Red Cross or another certificate that mentions "meets AHA guidelines" or "equivalent to AHA"). If you do not have a current AHA BLS certification issued from the AHA, you can add the certification and complete it before the instructor's course. We will arrange to complete your certification prior to the day of your class.
  • Complete the BLS Instructor Essentials Online Course. The registration confirmation email will include a link to your online course.
  • Attend the in-person instructor's course.
  • You are required to bring a person with you on the day of the class to participate in your initial monitoring. This will be conducted in the afternoon, and they will receive a free BLS provider certification. Click HERE for more information. Who should take this course? The Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED blended learning course equips students to recognize and care for a variety of breathing and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children, and infants. It is designed for students who need a certification that satisfies OSHA, workplace, or other regulatory requirements. This class is taught in a blended learning format and the online portion (accessed via mobile, desktop, or tablet) must be completed prior to attending the Instructor-led skills session. Upon successful completion, a valid 2-year digital certificate for Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED is issued.
 
There are 2 parts to this course
Part 1: The Adult and Pediatric CPR / AED online course. Allow approximately 2 hours to complete the online portion.
Part 2: The in-person hands-on skills session, which will be completed on the day of your class.

Same-Day Certification:
Students who successfully complete this course will receive an American Red Cross Certificate for Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED valid for 2 years. Meets OSHA, Government, and Workplace Requirements.
 

PLEASE NOTE: This course is NOT designed for those needing a "Healthcare Provider Certification."

Price Includes: Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid / CPR / AED online portion, hands-on skills session, and your Red Cross 2 year certification.
 
Who should take this course? The Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED blended learning course equips students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children and infants. It is designed for students who need a certification that satisfies OSHA, workplace, or other regulatory requirements. This class is taught in a blended learning format and the online portion (accessed via mobile, desktop, or tablet) must be completed prior to attending the Instructor-led skills session. Upon successful completion, a valid 2-year digital certificate for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED is issued.

Who should take this course? The Basic Life Support (BLS) course provides healthcare providers and public safety professionals the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adult, child, and infant patients. This class is taught in a blended learning format and the online portion (accessed via mobile, desktop, or tablet) must be completed prior to attending the instructor-led skills session.
 
Price Includes: Red Cross BLS online portion, hands-on, and your Red Cross BLS card.
 
There are 2 parts to this course

Part 1: The BLS online course. Allow approximately 2-3 hours to complete the online portion.
Part 2: The in-person hands-on skills session, which will be completed on the day of your class.

 
Same-Day Certification:
Students who successfully complete this course will receive an American Red Cross Certificate for Basic Life Support (BLS), valid for 2 years. Meets OSHA, Government, and Workplace Requirements.

BLS course materials and completion cards were developed to accommodate students who pass the cognitive portion of the HeartCode® BLS Provider Course but cannot perform the physical skills of CPR. By successfully advising others how to perform CPR and use an AED, HeartCode BLS students can receive an Advisor: BLS card. Students should check to make sure that their workplaces will accept these cards.
